Charleston, SC

April 12-16, 2013

We had a wonderful time in Charleston – what a beautiful, interesting city! We could have stayed longer, there is so much to see and do, but we were grateful to Looper friends and Charleston residents Joe and Edie for showing us the highlights and loaning us a car for a few days.

Highlights:

  • Sharing one more great port with Randy before he headed home to Cincinnati
  • Spending time with Joe and Edie in their adopted home town – and welcoming them on board Blue Heron again
  • Attending a wonderful performance of Verdi’s Requiem by the Charleston Symphony with Joe, Edie and Randy
  • The gorgeous homes and historical buildings of the city
  • The City Market, especially the sweetgrass baskets
  • Meeting friends Gary and Coleen for lunch and welcoming them on Blue Heron
  • Visiting Fort Sumter
  • Docking at the Megadock
